ABOUT

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I offer therapy sessions both in person and online, giving you the flexibility to chose the option that feels the most comfortable and convenient for you. It’s also not unusual for arrangements to be made that offer a combination of both in person and online, depending on life circumstances, work schedules etc.

If you prefer to meet in person, sessions take place in a quiet, spacious and comfortable room, which is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Along with the work itself, the room is designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for you and every client. Face to face sessions are based in Eastbourne in East Sussex, and online sessions are available via FaceTime, WhatsApp or other secure video platforms, with many clients finding them to be just as effective as meeting in person. For couples counselling, I can arrange a three-way video call, allowing each person to join from a different location if needed.

If you have any questions about the different ways we can work together, or would like to discuss the options which might work best fit you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I’d be happy to help.

EXPERIENCE

Following a series of bereavements and the counselling I received, I become interested in training as a therapist and started reading and taking various courses in differing aspects of psychotherapy and counselling from 1995 onwards. Although I started to see clients in 1999, I was awarded a full scholarship by Brighton and Hove council to attend the post graduate counselling course at Brighton University in 2001, from which I graduated in 2003.

Over the years, I became increasingly aware that many issues that clients wanted to explore in therapy were grounded in their relationships with others, past or present. Also, clients often 'carried' those experiences with them, approaching each new relationship, personal or professional, through the lens of those prior relationships. These experiences (and the problems they often caused for my clients), lead me to become more interested in working directly on those relationships themselves. I also began to appreciate that this couple work often promoted profound changes in the individuals and well as within the relationship itself.

I now specialise in couple counselling, working in  Eastbourne and Hastings.

I have been working in private practice and in counselling agencies since 1999 and later obtained a full scholarship to attend the post graduate counselling course in Brighton University, graduating in 2003. Originally, I studied at the Royal Academy of Music and have helped many clients with anxiety and performance related issues such as creative blockage.
